Rachel Phillips is an Education Adviser at the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education, having joined the School Effectiveness Team in 2022 after serving in a range of schools across the Diocese, most recently as a Head of School in Lambeth.

Drawing on her experience in school leadership, education improvement, and school development, Rachel supports diocesan primary schools through advisory visits, SIAMS reviews, self-evaluation, and school review processes. She also leads training for school leaders and governors and supports the recruitment and induction of headteachers and deputy headteachers.

Prior to working in education, Rachel worked in strategic communications and public relations in both the public and private sectors. Alongside her work with SDBE, she serves as a trustee of Welcare and the Kennington Bethlehem Link, and is a member of the PCC at St Augustine's Church, Tooting.
