Pia Longman is Assistant Director of Education at the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education. Before joining SDBE, Pia was a Headteacher and Executive Headteacher in Southwark, leading schools through periods of growth, change, and improvement.

Drawing on her experience as both a school leader and strategic adviser, Pia supports schools, governors, and trusts on a wide range of issues. Her areas of expertise include school finance and sustainability, safeguarding, complaints and complex parental concerns, academy conversion and MAT development, and school reorganisation.

Pia is particularly skilled at helping schools navigate challenging situations, whether that involves financial pressures, falling pupil numbers, organisational change, safeguarding matters, or complaints. She works alongside leaders to find practical, sustainable solutions that enable schools to focus on delivering the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
