Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

Creating school communities where every individual is valued, respected and able to flourish is central to our vision for education. Through our Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB) work, we support schools in developing inclusive cultures, tackling barriers to participation and ensuring that all members of their communities feel welcomed, represented and empowered.
What We Offer
Our support includes:
- Training and professional development for school leaders, staff, governors and trustees
- Strategic advice and support for EDIB self-evaluation and action planning
- Facilitation of the SDBE Headteacher Steering Group for EDIB
- Diocese-wide surveys and benchmarking opportunities to help schools evaluate progress and inform strategic priorities
- Specialist curriculum support, including resources and guidance that promote inclusive learning and representation
- Opportunities for collaboration, networking and the sharing of effective practice
- Access to resources, guidance and signposting to external organisations, training and support
- Support for schools in embedding EDIB principles within leadership, governance, curriculum and school culture
By working alongside schools on their EDIB journey, we aim to help build communities where diversity is celebrated, equity is promoted, inclusion is embedded and every child, young person and adult feels a genuine sense of belonging
