The Board provides support for governing bodies on a range of subjects, including:

  • Admission and appeals;
  • Exclusion of pupils;
  • Parental complaints;
  • Personnel matters;
  • Religious education;
  • Collective worship;
  • School buildings;
  • Ofsted & SIAMS inspection.

We also provide advice on governing body procedures, committees and re-organisation issues such as joining infant and junior schools, change of school category and academy status.

The Board runs a wide-ranging programme of training sessions for governors, in addition to which we have also created the ‘Bishop’s Certificate in Church School Governance’, a modular course running across the academic year.
