Are you passionate about education and your local community? Do you want to help shape the future of Malden Parochial School? We are seeking a Foundation Governor to join our Governing Body.
About the Role
As a Foundation Governor, you will play a vital role in supporting the school’s Christian ethos and ensuring it is reflected in all aspects of school life. Foundation Governors are appointed to represent the interests of the church and uphold the school’s religious character.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and challenge school leaders to ensure high standards of achievement for all pupils
- Uphold and develop the Christian ethos of the school
- Attend and contribute to governing board meetings (usually 6 per year)
- Take part in school visits and governor training
- Work collaboratively with other governors, staff, and stakeholders
- Ensure the school meets statutory and regulatory requirements
Who We’re Looking For
- A commitment to the Christian foundation and values of the school
- An interest in education and a willingness to learn
- Good communication, teamwork, and analytical skills
- Integrity, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- No formal qualifications required – training and support will be provided
Time Commitment
- Approximately 6 full governing board meetings per year (usually evenings)
- Additional time for training, reading papers, and occasional school visits
