Rachael Norman
Rachael has been working at the SDBE for the last 3 years as Secondary Adviser but she started her career in education 25 years ago as a History teacher in a Lambeth Diocesan Secondary school. Rachael supports our secondary schools in a variety of different ways and delivers training to staff and governors across all phases as well as undertaking SIAMS reviews and providing pastoral care. As a former Secondary Headteacher, she is passionate about education and has a Doctorate in Education from King's College, London.
She is Chair of the Local Governing Board of a secondary school and a member of the Trust board in a MAT. Rachael seeks to use the latest educational research to apply best practice in driving school improvement and her main objective is to enhance the quality of teaching and learning to secure aspirational outcomes for pupils of all abilities. Rachael firmly believes in education as a liberating, powerful and empowering force that changes lives and brings about social justice and equality.
