Shaun Burns is the Primary Religious Education Adviser at the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education, having joined SDBE in 2012. He supports schools across the Diocese on Religious Education, Collective Worship, SMSC, Christian distinctiveness, and SIAMS.

Drawing on extensive experience in Church of England education, Shaun works with school leaders, governors, clergy, and staff to strengthen teaching and learning in RE and support schools in their Christian vision. He is the Diocesan SIAMS Lead, an accredited trainer for Understanding Christianity, a SIAMS inspector, and works closely with local Standing Advisory Councils on Religious Education (SACREs) across the Diocese.

A lifelong resident of the Diocese of Southwark, Shaun is passionate about helping schools flourish and enabling all to belong, serve and thrive.
