Sara joined the school effectiveness team in September 2021, on a part time secondment, while continuing as head of a diocesan primary school. Prior to headship Sara had taught in a wide variety of both primary and secondary schools and was able to use her experiences as a professional musician to work with schools as an arts consultant.

In her consultancy work with the SDBE, as part of the school effectiveness team, Sara undertakes various visits to our diocesan primary schools, SIAMS review visits and works with schools on self-evaluation. Throughout her career Sara has led training for school leaders and governors and has a passion for evidence-based research, being part of the Chartered College research hub. As with all SDBE colleagues and partners, Sara promotes the Christian distinctiveness of our schools.
